COREY&CO is situated in a quiet, mostly residential neighborhood just steps from the Old Port center in Portland. One of the unexpected pleasures of this Pleasant Street location has been meeting and becoming friendly with nearby residents. A couple of days ago I had a surprise visit from a small family from the neighborhood. They came bearing a gift for the shop, carrying out a Rwandan custom. If a Rwandan child shows an interest or like for a particular business, a gift is given by the family to that shop. I think the little girl Queen has been attracted by the bright colors in the window and her father says she wants to come up the steps even on their evening walks. Such a lovely family and such a wonderful tradition: Here are the gift, the note, the family.
